This is my second attempt at filming the development of tadpoles. This time I reduced the interval time to 5 minutes to allow finer details to be recorded. However, the eggs then 'decided' that they would not develop at all for 5 days, so the film lasted about 15 minutes with nothing happening until the last minute. I tried to edit it and only show the interesting bit, but deciding when they started to 'really' develop was impossible and to be honest felt wrong. So i increased the frame rate and made the whole thing shorter. I used the polycarbonate mini tanks i described previously but I wonder whether the spawn needs to float to the surface to develop properly since most of the spawn at the bottomof the mini-tank failed to develop at all. I am currently thinking abaout how to isolate a single egg and do an extreme close up of it developing. If you are wondering why the film seems to repeat at the end, then erm so am I. It seems I have not quite got to grips with the software yet...
