Composter / planter
This was our first attempt at making a hotbed. We used an experimental composter we'd made, filled it up with fresh manure and straw and covered it with compost before we planted squashes in the soil, using the heat from the decomposing manure to warm them. The results were pretty impressive, so we moved it to the allotment in the end.
